Ellen van Ham (37) is a wildlife and portrait watercolor artist living in Amersfoort, the Netherlands with her 10-year old son.
She graduated from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam in 2008 with Bachelor Degrees in International and European law and criminal law. She started her Masters right after that, but soon realized law was not her thing. After working full time at two international law firms and a patent office, she decided to start learning graphic design. In 2015, she opened a store on Etsy and started selling art prints from her digital art. A year later, she opened a second shop for digital wedding stationery and soon after became a full time entrepreneur selling all kinds of printable party goods.
Ellen has been creating watercolor art since the end of 2018 and started selling her paintings in 2020. She spends her days creating watercolor art, elegant party stationery and spending time with her son.
Painting takes me into a calm world of my own where the real world doesn't exist anymore. It brings me peace and joy and it offers me a place where I can meditate on the wonders of life. My highest goal is to convey that same peace and joy to the viewer and to gracefully show the beauty of animals, humans and nature, offering a moment of
pure serenity and quietness.
